Week 9 - Daniel Chen: the power of my boundless laziness
guys as much as i hate having people write boring blogs im lazy and dont feel like coming up with an original idea sorry to whoever will be inevitably forced to comment on my huge rant about whatever i feel like talking about and good luck trying to decipher anything that i say in this jumbled mess of words that has no flow no punctuation no capitalization no separations between paragraphs and honestly fails to meet any standards that are probably expected of apeng students you know today has been such an interesting day i woke up went to school went to class got out of class went to flex got out of flex went to class got out of class went on lunch break went to class got out of class and then went home i think its quite an interesting day with no dull moments whatsoever anyways i think the biggest problem that i have is that i think that men are just so pretty i do wonder what people think in their heads sometimes like i feel like half the things i see go on in school and everywhere else is a result of people lacking a few key insights about the current situation i know its probably not all obvious at the moment but i swear its a bit annoying when i start eating in the middle of class like maybe im leaving too many crumbs behind for the ants to pick up but maybe i just connected 2 ideas in a single line without finishing the previous thought and moved on to the other who cares im lazy to fix that issue anyways whats everyones favorite flavor of ice cream please tell me in the comments and why you think that particular flavor is the best i feel like ill get some heated arguments if any of you really do bother to read this jumbled mess that ive written anyways i think my favorite flavor of ice cream is cookie dough and my favorite topping is brownie chunks especially the really fudgy ones another thing that i really love about ice cream is that it makes me feel like im not dying from school its almost heavenly to just take a bite of ice cream next thing i wanted to address is that i think that mrs smith is a wonderful teacher and shes genuinely one of the nicest people that ive had as a teacher i wonder how she does everything that she does its quite incredulous the way that she can manage to have so much on her plate but then still not get mad at me for being the strange person in class anyways i feel like this blog might actually secretly be a commentary on something but im not too sure what it is perhaps this is a commentary on something perhaps it isnt its really up to you to decide because im really too lazy to figure out if it is who knows to be honest im surprised im still ranting about whatever i dont even remember what i talked about first anymore anyways to wrap this up i just wanted to ask about everyones favorite cheese like whats the ideal cheese for you and which one would you choose if you could only have that type of cheese for the rest of your life tell me in the comments too please make it interesting i will be checking later on because i want cheese suggestions anyways good job on making it to the end of this mess and good luck finding something to comment about on this blog
Daniel,
ReplyDeleteI was immediately drawn in by how relatable your title was, as laziness seems to have a powerful control over many of our lives. I appreciated how your blog title itself creatively represented that laziness with consistent lowercase letters, implying your lax demeanor when crafting this composition. Furthermore, I enjoyed when you “woke up went to school went to class got out of class went to flex got out of flex went to class got out of class went on lunch break went to class got out of class and then went home” as it painted a clear and sequential picture of your day and revealed what we never knew about your life. Your blog had an undeniably clear structure as in the first four lines, you began with introducing the topic of your blog, and then progressed into an overall positive evaluation of your day, and then a rumination of the negative aspects of life, such as “leaving too many crumbs.” There were clear distinctions between ideas, determined by transitions such as the “next thing i wanted to address” and “to wrap this up.” Finally, I enjoyed how much audience engagement was incorporated into your blog. The striking contrast between the initial question being about a sweet ice cream flavor and the following question being about savory preferences with cheese brutally forced your audience to tap into their intellect. I like brownies in ice cream too. Thank you!
hi daniel im going to respond to this in the same way you wrote this because i want to and honestly this is how im feeling this morning. to answer your incredibly intellectually stimulating questions, i would say i could always go for like a good pepper jack cheese moment also my favorite ice cream is kind of hard because i have such a sweet tooth and will literally eat anything remotely sweet and act like it's the best thing the world has ever produced but i think my top three favorite ice cream flavors are probably mango, cookie dough (twin), and like butterscotch. i hate flavors that are overly chocolatey, that's kind of a red flag in ice cream in my humble opinion. anyway i really like how you wrote your blog because sometimes this is just how i feel and how we all feel and i like that you're not pretending to be jolly when really we're all just too tired and lazy to add capitalization and punctuation. i also like that you literally didn't even finish one thought in your whole blog because i really resonate with how fast your mind seems to move like this whole blog sounded like a conversation i would have with my friends or something when it comes to being genuine and transparent in a blog you won because as i read this i was like "wow same." also i think my biggest problem is thinking men are pretty too.
ReplyDeleteHey Daniel! I love the style of writing in this blog! The use of casual language and punctuation makes it feel like a regular conversation. Firstly, I want to start by answering your two questions.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite type of ice cream is french vanilla but wild 'n reckless sherbet (from Baskin-Robbins), mango and strawberry are close seconds. People often dismiss vanilla as being too basic or boring but I find that sometimes, basic things are comforting. I prefer ice cream from Baskin-Robbins over other stores because it reminds me of my elementary school years before I lived in Fremont. Everyday Friday, my mom and I would visit the local Baskin-Robbin store, order vanilla ice cream, and eat on their small wired tables. As for a type of cheese I could have for the rest of my life, I would choose pepperjack. Pepperjack is more flavored compared to most cheeses and can be used in a variety of dishes therefore, I believe it is the best option.
Your blog is one of the most creative ways of interpreting the power topic. You emphasize that there is power in the normal, seemingly plain things in life. I was engaged throughout your blog not only because of the interesting formatting but also because I never knew what was coming next. Despite your explanation of the repetitiveness of a school routine, I found your blog to give me the exact opposite feeling. Through your blog I realized that not everything should be overanalyzed and that some things can just be as they are: pure communication void of unnecessary punctuation and complication. Also, the little image at the end of your blog was the best and cutest way to wrap it up! Overall, this was an extremely captivating blog! I hope to read more from you in the future!
Hi Daniel. Unfortunately since I am not as lazy nor creative as you today, my comment is going to contain "punctuation," "capitalization," and "separations between paragraphs."
ReplyDeleteLike you, today I woke up, went to school, in school, at first period, writing this comment at 9:52 am on a Tuesday.
Though I am not lazy enough to use the proper grammer right now, I am lazy enough to avoid commenting on your writing which is quite intriguing to read by the way, so instead I will answer your questions. I saw that you used 2 in your writing, my favorite number is two so that's great.
My favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip but I know there is some controversy with that so don’t hate me for that because it actually tastes better than you think. I also love rocky road cause I love chocolate and I basically breathe and live chocolate cause I love it that much. I love cookie dough too and brownies are good but I don’t like fudge because it's too thick for my liking.
Reading this makes me crave for ice cream but it’s too early for that and I don’t want to do history work so I really want ice cream. I am currently thinking about going home and eating ice cream though I know it's cold, don’t judge ice cream can be eaten any time, anyday, and anywhere.
Perhaps there is a message behind the blog but since I feel lazy right now (it's too early for trying) I am gonna leave it to everyone else to figure it out.
Lastly, I literally don’t eat cheese but since you asked here's a list from seriouseats.com “A Cheese Expert’s Guide to 10 Essential Cheeses to Know and Love”
Burrata 2.) Greek Feta 3.) Brie de Meaux-Style Brie 4.) Pyrénée Sheep 5.) Comté
I have no Idea what any of those are but hopefully they're good and not too expensive because cheese is very expensive.
I just realized how long this looks but I had to keep up with the first sentence of this comment so hopefully, you're not too lazy and read through this long and tedious comment.
To be honest, I would end it there since I am lazy but I still need the points so I have to add that I love your writing technique in this blog because it is both personal and engaging. Genuinely speaking I was able to read through this blog very quickly and attentively due to the lack of grammar so it was both entertaining and quick. I hope to read more intriguing blogs (like this one) from you in the future!
Hi Daniel! I read this blog last week and since then I genuinely have not been able to stop thinking about it and I think part of it has just kept me going this whole week. Thank you for walking me through your extremely interesting day. I especially liked learning about how you went to FLEX then got out of it as well. Sometimes, having to leave FLEX is like the hardest part of my day. I honestly wish we have designated study hall periods to just do whatever we want for more time. To answer your first question, my favorite ice cream is Bruster's Cookie Craze. For starters, it's blue (my favorite color - so that's immediately amazing) and it has oreos, cookie dough, and dino sugar cookies. I love dinosaurs and I love ice cream so the flavor is basically the best possible combination ever for me. And about cheese, honestly I don't exactly have a favorite cheese. I feel like cheese is cheese is cheese so it's a given that any cheese is good. I will basically eat any and every cheese - except Blue Cheese, because it stinks. I do, however, really want to try the combination of Brie, figs, and honey on a toast because that sounds heavenly.
